Drugeac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Vélorail route from Drugeac runs for more than 7 km there and back to the Cascade de Salins, passing through three tunnels and over three viaducts. The Vélorail du Pays de Mauriac starts at Drugeac station on the former railway line from Miécaze to Bort-les-Orgues. Each vélorail vehicle can accommodate a maximum of five people.

Culture

The Église Saint-Géraud in Drugeac served as a priory of the Abbey of Saint-Géraud d’Aurillac until the 17th century. It has a three-bell comb-style bell tower, stained-glass windows from the 16th century, and a depiction of the Nativity, or an “Adoration of the Angels”, from the 17th century.

The Château de Leybros and the Château de Chanterelle, both castles, are located in the area around Drugeac, as are the ruins of the Ancien château de Crèvecœur and the Château de la Borie, also a castle. The old castle of Drugeac is regarded as a reminder of the history of Haute-Auvergne.

Nature

The hiking route from Drugeac begins in the village square. It leads through a beech forest, past a cave and to a large meadow on the plateau.

The Source minérale d’Apcher, also known as du Cher, is a mineral spring that naturally produces carbonated mineral water with a constant temperature of 13°C. The spring is located 2 km from the centre of Drugeac and is accessible every day throughout the year.

The mountains Suc de Gramont, Puy Violent, Roc des Ombres and Suc de Rond are located in the wider regional area around Drugeac.
