Culture and history

The history of Saint-Urcize includes the church dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Michael. The current church building dates from the 11th and 14th centuries and has an ambulatory behind the choir.

The keep of the former castle of Saint-Urcize also bears witness to the history of the village. It was called “Salle-Court”, consisted of three vaults arranged one above the other, and stood on what is now Rocher de la Vierge.

Local life

Since 2023, Les Jardins de Jade has been producing around sixty different varieties of organic vegetables in Saint-Urcize using the living-soil cultivation method. From April to October, the business sells them directly at the farm and at the markets in Saint-Urcize and Chaudes Aigues.

La Petite Laiterie de l'Aubrac offers groups a visit to the workshop on Friday afternoons by prior reservation.
