La Cascade du Luc is a waterfall approximately 40 metres high in the Jordanne Valley. It can be reached via an 800-metre-long footpath from the Maison de site de Mandailles and is considered suitable for families. Trail Parcours 19, “Le Tour du Puy Griou”, is a 17.5-kilometre circular route starting in Mandailles-Saint-Julien. A 112-kilometre loop starts in Mandailles-Saint-Julien and returns there.
The Station de pleine nature in Mandailles-Saint-Julien is a starting point for numerous outdoor activities that can be undertaken independently or under professional supervision. Its offerings include hiking, climbing, canyoning, trail running, via ferrata, horse-riding excursions, snowshoeing, ski touring, ice climbing and mountaineering. The Station de pleine nature provides lockers, changing rooms, a kitchen with a refrigerator, sanitary facilities with a shower and a facility for refilling water.
Culture
The Maison de site de Mandailles presents the local landscapes, fauna and flora in a panoramic exhibition as well as a 20-minute audiovisual presentation. It is housed in a manor built from dressed stone in the 19th century, with a slate roof; its architectural identity was preserved during the renovation. The Maison de site de Mandailles also offers a reception area and a boutique area.
The 17th-century painting “Mise au tombeau” in the Church of Saint-Julien in Mandailles has been listed as a protected movable object since 8 September 1999. The Le Puy Mary hiking loop includes the Buron de Cabrespine, which was restored in 1984 and 1985 and consists of a Buron with a fan-shaped Védélat attached to it. The Le Puy Mary route passes the Combe Jeanne mill.
