The Rymice Open-Air Museum comprises seven folk-architecture buildings from eastern Haná.

Culture

The history of Rymice includes the Renaissance fortress, which is the oldest surviving building in the municipality. The fortress was opened to the public in 2006. The Church of Saint Bartholomew also stands in the centre of Rymice. It was built in 1786. The fortress and the church date from different periods of construction and thus mark two clearly separate historical reference points within the municipality.

Another part of the historic heritage is located in Hejnice, a district of Rymice. Hejnice was declared a village heritage conservation reserve in 1995. Three smallholder farmsteads have been preserved there as a group: houses nos. 62, 64 and 65. House no. 64 is known as „U Vymětalů“ and contains a black kitchen with a hearth and bread oven. The three houses have been preserved as a coherent group, while house no. 64 stands out because of its named kitchen and the two surviving fixtures.

Hejnice is home to a fully wooden German post mill from the first half of the 19th century. The windmill was moved to Rymice from nearby Bořenovice in 1977. Its structure rotates on a central post, allowing the sails to be aligned with the wind. Its present association with Rymice is therefore based on its relocation from Bořenovice; at the same time, its design points to the mill’s earlier date of origin. The central post is the key structural feature used to align the mill as a whole.

Landscape

Zadní vrch hill lies in the vicinity of Rymice. In the immediate surroundings are Holešov Castle Park and the Hrad [Kostelec u Holešova] elevation. In the wider regional surroundings of Rymice are Zámek Lešná Chateau, Zřícenina Lukov ruins, Holý vrch hill, Kelčský Javorník mountain, and Hrad Buchlov Castle. These destinations are not all assigned to the same spatial level: two are in the immediate surroundings, while the remaining places and landscape features are mentioned as being in the wider regional surroundings.

Cycling route

A specific cycling connection also leads to Rymice. The „From Kroměříž to the traditions of Haná“ cycling route runs via cycling route 5033A to Rymice. Thus, in addition to the historic buildings, a named connection with Kroměříž as its starting point and Rymice as its destination is also documented.

Also pay attention to the stated booking and cancellation conditions. The information may vary from one offer to another; therefore, the decisive factor is what is specifically stated on the respective page. Also check the period for which the conditions apply and whether the occupancy is fully specified. When reviewing the included services, it is worth looking closely at the wording of each offer so that optional components are not equated with the base price. Deadlines and any possible cancellation restrictions should also be clearly identifiable on the offer page.

You can also access other places on the portal: Osíčko, Zástřizly, Brusne, Dřínov, Střížovice, Mrlínek, Sulimov, Honětice.
