History and culture

The ruins of Křídlo Castle are located in the cadastral area of Brusné. The castle was founded in the mid-14th century. The Křídlo site in Brusné is classified as a significant archaeological site. Another historical trace is Panský Mlýn. The mill is considered one of the oldest redeemed mills in the region. The first mentions of Panský Mlýn date from the second half of the 14th century; at that time, the mill was named in the sale as part of the freehold estate of Křídlo Castle.

At Panský Mlýn, a functioning replica of the original water wheel can be seen. It is supplied with water from the Rusava via a channel and an aqueduct. A chapel with a bell tower was also built in Brusné; its year of construction is 1840. At the Zvonička v Brusném, the ground floor can be viewed as a chapel through a glass pane; two benches stand in front of the entrance.

Nature and water

Brusné lies at the confluence of the Brusenka stream and the Rusava River. The Brusenka is a right-bank tributary of the Rusava. The Rusava is located in the southwestern part of Brusné. Thus, a smaller stream and a river meet within the municipality, while the Rusava also enables the water supply for the replica water wheel at Panský Mlýn. Brusné is also regarded as one of the gateways to the Hostýnské vrchy hills.

Háj recreation area

The Háj recreation area with two ponds and a restaurant is located on the western outskirts of Brusné. The area has a covered stage for various events and a children’s playground. The Háj u Rybníčků municipal restaurant reopened in March 2026. Thus, in addition to the two ponds, the area includes a stage, a playground and a restaurant as clearly named components.

Paths and facilities

Access to the meeting point for the guided tour of the ruins of Křídlo Castle follows a yellow-marked and then blue-marked hiking trail. A workout and parkour playground was built in Brusné in 2019.
