The Portášská educational trail is 7 km long and leads from Oškerovy paseky via Jasenná to Vartovna. Along its route, there are six stations and three information points. This clearly connects the route, its length and its thematic stops, without limiting the route to a single starting point.

Culture

Several original wooden houses characteristic of the Valašsko region have been preserved in Dešná. One of these preserved wooden houses is listed as an immovable cultural monument in the state heritage register. Rural house No. 15 has a hipped roof with bevelled gable ends, covered with beavertail tiles; this house is also listed as an immovable cultural monument.

A wooden memorial cross stands at the place called Na kopci. It is located at an elevated site deliberately chosen so that the cross can also be seen from a distance. At the same time, it stands at a symbolic crossroads and formerly marked the entrance to the area of Všemina.

History

The Hrádek archaeological site is located in the territory of Dešná. It is a fortified hilltop settlement of the Púchov culture dating from the late La Tène period, that is, from the end of the 1st century BC. Deposits containing iron objects were found at Hrádek. Archaeological research at Hrádek between Všemina and Dešná confirmed settlement by the Púchov culture and uncovered traces of a palisade made of stakes that was apparently destroyed by fire.

Archaeological investigations at Hrádek in 1987 uncovered a stone axe, ceramics and iron objects; the most significant find was a hearth shovel. Another archaeological site is Zlatná, also called Zlatnice. It comprises a settlement of the same culture where Celtic gold coins were found. An estimated 12 to 20 gold coins were found at the site, of which only three can currently be identified.
