Lípa is located on the left bank of the Dřevnice River. The Zelené údolí Protected Area covers the cadastral area of Lípa nad Dřevnicí. Its purpose of protection includes a mineral water spring. The first written mention of Lípa appears in an entry from 1261. The municipality also includes a small chapel, considered the most beautiful building in the municipality of Lípa.
