Holiday apartment in Dolní Lhota: Landscape, Church and Tradition
Dolní Lhota lies at the foot of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. The valley of the Horní Olšava, also called Šťávnice, and the wooded areas on the southern edge of the cadastral area of Dolní Lhota are also home to Kameničná, a hill rising to 521 m. These geographical references provide the village with a clearly identifiable landscape setting.
Culture and Tradition
The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Dolní Lhota was built between 2007 and 2014 and consecrated in 2014. Dolní Lhota first appears in written sources in 1449. The religious tradition includes the Dolní Lhota pilgrimage, which is celebrated every year on the third Sunday in July, following the pilgrimages in Újezd and Slopné. The carnival procession in Dolní Lhota is organised by firefighters and accompanied by a small brass band. Thus, the building history, written history of the village, pilgrimage and a local festive event stand side by side.
Connections
The busy Luhačovice–Zlín road runs through Dolní Lhota. Another road branches off from it in the village towards Valašské Klobouky. The nearest railway stations are Luhačovice, 7 km away on the Luhačovice–Uherský Brod line, and Zádveřice, 10 km away on the Otrokovice–Zlín–Vizovice line. This identifies both the road running through the village and two different railway lines with their nearest stations.
Sport
There is a reservation system for the tennis court in Dolní Lhota where you can check whether it has already been rented. The multipurpose hall, which was put into operation on 1 October 2009, is intended not only for the primary school but also for the general public. Its facilities enable tennis, volleyball, basketball, floorball, indoor football, aerobics and other sporting activities. The tennis court and the multipurpose hall therefore represent two differently organised sporting facilities within the village.
Check Before Booking
When viewing a holiday apartment in Dolní Lhota or comparing several offers, check the exact location, accommodation type and stated occupancy on the respective offer page. The included services, individual price components, and booking and cancellation conditions are equally important. Make sure that the number of guests is clearly stated, which costs are listed separately and under what conditions cancellation is possible. This makes it possible to compare the specific offer details in a comprehensible way before completing the booking. Taking a close look at the individual fields prevents different offers from being judged solely by their title. Compare the occupancy with the actual number of people planned to travel and check, for included services, whether they are listed in full or only in part. For the price components, it is worth considering the base price and any additional amounts separately. The conditions should also make clear which deadlines apply and whether the total amount changes in the event of a modification or cancellation.
