Culture and history

The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes was consecrated in 1898–1899. An agricultural chamber dating from the 19th century has been preserved at house no. 37 in Částkov. Both monuments are visible historical details of the village.

At the eastern edge of Částkov lies the terrain remains of the fortress, several dozen metres above the church and next to the municipal office building. The Částkov – “Na hradě” site consists of partially preserved terrain traces of a fortress built before 1321. The Částkov fortress is mentioned in sources for the year 1497 as having already been demolished.

The Žižka Oak is also part of the village’s traditional history: today, only a torso remains. A local legend connects the Žižka Oak with the army of Jan Žižka, which rested there for several days.

Landscape and nature

Částkov lies in a valley where the Lovčice and Řásná streams join to form the Částkovský potok. The Žižka Oak stands southeast of Částkov in Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park. In the immediate surroundings of Částkov, this nature park is a harmoniously shaped cultural landscape with forests, permanent grassland, fields with copses, thickets, numerous old orchards, pastures and fragments of heat-loving steppe meadows.

The marked local cycle route 5176 passes through Částkov. The Podolí–Jarošov–Březolupy–Částkov–Prakšice–Hradčovice–Podolí cycle route also passes through Částkov. Thus, two explicitly designated routes are connected with the village, including local route 5176 and the connection running through several villages.

The traditional Císařské hody s právem festival is held every year in Částkov. A Fašank procession also takes place in Částkov every year. Both events are part of the village’s recurring calendar of activities.
