Culture

The Church of St. James the Greater in Velká Losenice is a single-nave Gothic building with a distinctive tower and a polygonal chancel. It is one of the oldest religious buildings in the Vysočina Region and is listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. Regular services are held in the parish Church of St. James the Greater on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Winter

In winter, the Losenický okruh cross-country skiing circuit runs from Velká Losenice through the Peperek Nature Monument and back. The route is 9.3 kilometres long and has an elevation difference of 60 metres. Its course along forest roads, meadows, and fields connects different landscape areas. The car park near Velká Losenice can only be reached from Velká Losenice in winter; the road from Vepřová is not maintained during this season.

Another excursion is titled “In the Footsteps of Miners, Žižka, and Unfaithful Women.” It starts and ends in Velká Losenice and is approximately 23 kilometres long.
