Hamry nad Sázavou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the valley of the Sázava lies Rozštípená Skála, a state-protected natural monument. The rock face at Rozštípená Skála is split by a weathered fissure approximately 10 metres long and around 2 metres wide.

Nature and Trails

The landscape follows the upper course of the Sázava and its tributaries, which flow through numerous ponds. The marked Hamerský walking circuit is a 15 km circular route around Hamry nad Sázavou intended for visitors. It can be covered entirely by bicycle and used for cross-country skiing when there is sufficient snow. There are climbing routes of all difficulty levels at Rozštípená Skála. Beyond Hamroň, Mamlase can be reached via this circuit.

Culture and History

Šlakhamr presents exhibitions on the local region’s ironworking tradition. During regular guided tours of Šlakhamr, visitors can see the waterwheel in operation, driving the water hammer. Šlakhamr was originally a medieval iron mill; it was later operated as a grain mill until the Second World War.

Sculptures

The Kůň sculpture depicts a horse attempting to pull a cart out of the water and stands at the turn-off to the Na Ranči guesthouse. The monumental Kůň sculpture stands beside the horse paddock of the Na Ranči riding club in Hamry nad Sázavou. Hamroň is an abstract sculpture combining a snail and a frog.

Transport Connections

The Žďár nad Sázavou–Šlakhamry bus route crosses the entire municipality, serving six stops there and ending in the Šlakhamry district. The Posázavská Cycle Route No. 19 runs through the entire municipality of Hamry nad Sázavou to the Najdek guesthouse and then continues to Sázava.
