History and Village Character

Nyklovice was first mentioned in 1335 under the name Mikulášovice (Mikulovice). Nyklovice was also donated to Doubravník Monastery by Jeruši, the daughter of Jimram of Aušperk.

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was built in 1864 on the village square in Nyklovice and is listed as a cultural monument. The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in Nyklovice in 1934 and is considered a feature of the local architectural identity.

Nature and Surroundings

The southern part of the Nyklovice municipal area, south of road II/375, belongs to the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park and covers an area of approximately 217.13 hectares.

The mountains of Kočíko and Librův Kopec are located in the vicinity of Nyklovice. The Drašarov and Babylon mountains are also located around Nyklovice.

Hiking through Nyklovice

The Vír–Chlum–Nyklovice–Hlásnice–Svojanov hiking route passes through Nyklovice. Most of this route runs along footpaths and field tracks.
