Skřinářov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary stands in the village square and is a distinctive landmark of Skřinářov. The village is surrounded by hilly terrain with Na Skalách (654 m), Malý kamenný vrch (592 m), and Svatá hora (679 m); the immediate surroundings are relatively densely forested.

Nature

The Heřmanovské koule mineralogical site lies in an inconspicuous grove 0.3 km south of Heřmanov, at the contact point between pegmatite and serpentinite. Lenses and spheres up to 9 cm in diameter occur there.

The “Lípy ve Skřinářově” consist of two small-leaved lime trees. The reason given for their protection is their landscape-defining and aesthetically interesting impact. There is a shelter for sitting beneath the trees.

History

Skřinářov was first mentioned in writing in 1364, when it was recorded in the land registers as the property of the Lords of Ronov, who held Osová Castle at the time. The former settlement of Rohy was depopulated between 1560 and 1590.

Near the former forester’s lodge of Rohy, remnants of former field boundaries and original stone embankments, as well as a well, have been preserved. Hrádek Rohy lies approximately 1.5 km from Skřinářov in a small wooded area 50 to 60 m to the right of the road to Heřmanov. The site is a distinctive and well-preserved relief of a castle or fortification. A stream originating there fills the defensive ditch approximately halfway with water.

Paths and Discoveries

The “Svatá Hora” educational trail is 16.9 km long, moderately difficult, has 15 stations, and is designed for a visit lasting approximately six hours. As a tourist route, it passes through interesting places in the surroundings of Skřinářov and Svatá Hora.

Swimming is a leisure option in Skřinářov and its surroundings. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Zelená hora in Žďár nad Sázavou is easily accessible from Skřinářov by bicycle, car, or train. A cycling route leads through Rohy, Skřinářov, Ořechov, Březejc, Martinice, and Kozlov.

Culture and Events

Skřinářov has a monument to the victims of the First World War. The traditional Children’s Day will take place on 29 August 2026 at the event grounds behind the municipal building.
