Tasov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tasov combines sacred architectural history, the literary heritage of Jakub Deml, and landscapes in the surroundings of the Oslava Valley. There are also historic buildings and signposted routes that reveal different sides of the town and its surroundings.

Culture and History

The parish church of St. Peter and Paul was rebuilt in the Baroque style between 1728 and 1730 from a Gothic presbytery and nave and was extended with a Baroque tower. A large part of the masonry of the early Gothic Church of St. Peter is preserved in the walls of the present-day parish house, built in 1730. The grave of the writer Jakub Deml is also located in the old cemetery next to the Church of St. Peter and Paul.

The Vysočina Literary Memorial is housed in the former civic school building in Tasov. It displays some of Jakub Deml’s original furniture, designed by the architect Bohuslav Fuchs; its library contains documents and books by Jakub Deml. The former villa of Jakub Deml was designed in 1921 by the Brno architect Bohuslav Fuchs. A viewing appointment for the Vysočina Literary Memorial can be arranged with Ms Tereza Axmanová.

Historical Traces

The Hrádek ruins in Tasov preserve the remains of a circular wall and a gate of a Gothic fortress dating from around 1390. Another historical trace lies in the vicinity of Tasov: a detour from Panský mlýn leads to the ruins of Dub Castle.

Nature and Routes

The picturesque, rocky Oslava Valley and erratic boulders lie in the surroundings of Tasov. The signposted Mlynářská cycle route No. 5109 leads through the Oslava Valley to Tasov.
