Radešín: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Radešín Castle tells the story of its foundation as a monastic farm estate and combines this history with Baroque architecture, balloon manufacturing and religious traditions. In addition, an educational trail leads through forests and meadows.

Culture

Radešín Castle was founded in the second half of the 13th century as a monastic farm estate of the Cistercians and served Cistercian abbots as a rural retreat for relaxation. The Baroque reconstruction carried out between 1706 and 1710 is attributed to Jan Blažej Santini-Aichl.

A museum dedicated to hot-air balloon manufacturing in the Czech Republic opened at Radešín Castle in 2019. The museum on the history of balloon manufacturing in Radešín shows the development and production of hot-air balloons in Czechoslovakia and subsequently in the Czech Republic. It has no fixed opening hours; visits are arranged by telephone at +420 734 44 30 30.

Faith

In the park of Radešín Castle, the niche chapel of the Virgin Mary was restored in 2007 based on historical photographs and the memories of eyewitnesses. The chapel in Radešín, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was built in 1884 and solemnly consecrated on 15 August 1887. The Radešín pilgrimage is celebrated annually and includes a festive pilgrim Mass at the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Radešín Castle can be reached by car via the Bohdalec–Radešín road; turn right approximately 100 m after the “Radešín” town sign.

The red circular route of the educational trail around Bobrová is 6 km long. It leads through forests and meadows and mostly runs away from roads.

On the Santiniho stezka Vysočinou trail, after lunch at the Balónový hotel in Radešín and a visit to Radešín Castle, the route continues to Sklené and Ostrov nad Oslavou.
