Vepřová: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A large part of Vepřová’s cadastral area lies within the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. On the eastern edge of the cadastral area is the Mlýnský potok and Uhlířky Nature Monument. It consists of a naturally meandering stream with alder stands and floodplain meadows and protects important meadow communities and meandering waterways with numerous protected plant and animal species.

Approximately 5 km north of Vepřová lies the Ranská jezírka protected area, designated in 1990 and covering 27.21 ha. It includes numerous ponds of various sizes and old spoil heaps left over from mining, which ended in the 19th century. The Dářko National Nature Reserve is also located 5 km northeast of Vepřová. It protects the largest transitional bog of the transitional raised-bog type in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, with occurrences of Pinus rotundata as well as numerous protected and endangered plant and animal species.

The Račínská studánka spring is located approximately 1 km from Vepřová on the road towards Račín. The Macova studna spring is situated approximately 1.5 km southeast of Vepřová, along a paved road.

Culture and history

The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity has stood in the middle of Vepřová village square since 1861. In 1922, two marble plaques bearing the names of those who fell in the First World War were installed at the chapel entrance.

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas stands on the road to Račín, near the Liškov pond. It was consecrated on 22 September 1929. Before that, a procession of citizens and honorary ladies set out from the chapel in the village.

Cycle paths

Cycle route 5061 from Vojnův Městec to Bystřice nad Pernštejnem passes through Vepřová. Cycle route 4156 from Sázava to Ledeč nad Sázavou also runs through the village; it is classified as a difficult route for mountain bikes and trekking bikes.

Long-distance cycle route 16 from Slavonice to Přibyslav passes through Vepřová. It is moderately difficult to difficult and can be ridden with all types of bicycles. The cycle route known as „Santiniho cyklotrasa“ is moderately difficult, runs on asphalt and is suitable for all types of bicycles.
