History

The Parish Church of St. James the Elder is the oldest historic building in Osová Bítýška. A free-standing tower and remnants of the fortification walls have survived from its late-medieval fortifications. The Baroque gate of the parish church is also one of the few monuments of its kind in the Czech Republic.

Osová Château has been the surviving centre of the estate associated with Osová Bítýška since at least the early 14th century. The Osová château and park complex is surrounded by a park with small structures, waterways and ponds.

Culture

Since 1990, the Sýpka Gallery in Osová has served as an exhibition gallery for contemporary art. During the season from spring to autumn, accompanying events at the intersection of visual and performing arts, as well as musical performances, take place there.

Krojované lidové tance and Chasa have a long-standing tradition in Osová Bítýška. In 2007, Krojované lidové tance were connected with the Svatojakubská pouť for the first time. Since 2015, Moravská špacírka has also been danced at the Svatojakubská pouť.
