Moravec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Moravec Castle and its park give the town a distinct historical character. The present-day Moravec Castle was preceded by a medieval fortress mentioned in 1347. After a fire in 1825, the castle was rebuilt and redesigned in the Neoclassical style. It is normally not open to the public.

Culture and history

The church originated as a castle chapel dating from 1628. The parish church of the Finding and Exaltation of the Holy Cross was restored after the fire of 1825; its tower was rebuilt in 1890.

Park and nature

Moravec Castle Park contains rhododendrons, azaleas, Jeffrey pines and silver firs. An information board at the entrance to the castle park provides information about the trees there. The Moravec granary is located on the southwestern edge of the castle park. It retains its original layout and historic structural elements.

Experiences

Cultural events take place in the courtyard of Moravec Castle in summer. Cycle route no. 5243 runs through Moravec.
