Landscape and water

Nearby, Černá skála is an isolated rock formation made of lydite in the forest, approximately 2 km from Líšná. The Vříšť stream, also known as the Fryšávka, flows through the cadastral area of Líšná. Young alluvial deposits covered with grass vegetation lie along the banks of the Fryšávka.

Líšná includes 211 hectares of forest and 0.74 hectares of commercial fishponds. The locations of the individual parts of the village are also closely linked to the watercourse: Horní Líšná lies on a slope on the left, elevated bank of the Fryšávka, while Dolní Líšná lies in the Fryšávka valley.

History and village character

A preserved site plan from 1741 documents the historic village square of Horní Líšná. The houses of Horní Líšná form a loosely arranged village square with a pond. The first known mention of Líšná dates from 1500.

The historic centre of Líšná forms part of the Fryšávka’s main compositional axis. The village belongs to the region of folk architecture known as „dům českomoravské vrchoviny – horácký dům“. Until the end of the last century, most buildings in Líšná were constructed using log construction; historically, Dolní Líšná was home to a manorial hammer mill.
