Křižánky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Křižánky Village Heritage Reserve comprises 45 cultural monuments and is the largest village heritage reserve in the Vysočina Region.

Culture and history

The file-making workshop in the Kupcův Mill complex has preserved authentic structures and elements that testify to its original function and historical value. The Za Pilníkáři na Český kopec educational trail presents the history of Křižánky’s file makers.

The educational programme at the Na Milovské huti Gallery includes a guided tour of the glassmakers’ settlement and exhibition, a lecture, and a discussion.

Nature

Devět skal is a protected, geomorphologically significant gneiss rock formation in the form of a rock city, with vegetation on silicate rocks and scree areas, as well as adjacent woodland. It is located in the cadastral area of Moravské Křižánky.

Educational trails

The Naše stromy educational trail begins in the centre of Křižánky and follows the green hiking trail towards the summit of Devět skal. It has 25 stops, is approximately one kilometre long, and takes 30 to 60 minutes on foot; it introduces 19 mostly native tree species.

The Milovská naučná stezka circular trail is 4.7 kilometres long and has 20 stops. The information panels tell the story of the landscape below Čtyři palice and point out the remains of a glassworks built in 1835.

Orientation

The Svratka River divides Křižánky into a Czech and a Moravian part. The Křižánky Tourist Information Centre is located in the municipal office building and is accessible by lift.
