Ždánice lies on the edge of the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. The nature park protects the varied landscape of the Moravian foreland of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, with the Svratka River and its tributaries; it also includes characteristic settlements and monuments.

History and Village Character
House No. 18 in Ždánice is an example of 18th-century folk architecture. Near the former school in Ždánice stands an iron cross dating from 1933. A marble cross was erected in Ždánice village park in 1918 and restored in 1949; in the fields towards Bystřice stands an iron cross dating from 1881.
Ždánice is documented as being owned by Doubravník Monastery from 1335. Until 1409, the village belonged to the Pernštejn family, and the Kos family is documented in Ždánice until 1538. The father of the sculptor Vincenc Makovský came from Ždánice.
On the Move
The Cyril and Methodius Trail passes through Ždánice and reaches Bystřice nad Pernštejnem's town square via the Rácová recreational area with ponds. The Rácová educational trail is an easy 2.5 km route from Bystřice nad Pernštejnem that ends on the road south of Ždánice.
The 19 km hiking route Z4, “From the Lookout Tower to the Ancient Chapel,” reaches Ždánice from Bystřice nad Pernštejnem via the Rácová area and then continues to the Karasín lookout tower. The 19 km Z6 “Výhledová” cycling loop runs from Bystřice nad Pernštejnem via Ždánice to Karasín.
A cycling loop runs through the Zubří area, is approximately 70 km long, and follows mostly paved roads. It follows cycle route 5180 through Ždánice towards Karasín.
Winter and Surroundings
In winter, there are cross-country ski trails near Ždánice with the possibility of connecting to the Nové Město na Moravě ski resort.
Near Ždánice, the Aueršperk castle ruins are freely accessible via a terrace path from the valley floor and via a direct ascent from the south. The Karasín lookout tower is also accessible every day of the year. The Pyšolec castle ruins can be reached from Zubštejn via a red-marked trail.
