Blízkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A yellow hiking trail leads from Blízkov to Dědkovská hora, a 694-metre-high peak in the Arnolecké hory. An 8-metre-high cross dating from 1984 stands on Dědkovská hora. The summit is suitable for a classic hiking excursion at any time. The unforested eastern slope offers views of the Meziříčská kotlina; Christian harvest pilgrimages also take place on Dědkovská hora.

Culture and History

Blízkov was first mentioned in writing in 1298. It is thought that the settlement may have originated during the great medieval colonisation in the 13th century. Blízkov is home to the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, a Baroque chapel dating from 1762.

The more recent history includes the former Mirhart ski jump. It was built in 1946–1947 as a 22.5-metre-high, five-storey wooden structure. An information board behind Blízkov commemorates this former ski jump.

Arrival and Transport

Exit 134 of the D1 motorway is no more than 3 kilometres from Blízkov. The settlement is served regularly by public transport as part of the Veřejná doprava Vysočiny system.
