Culture

The Church of the Holy Cross was built in Sněžné in the mid-18th century. The town’s Protestant church was last redesigned inside in 1994 based on a design by Ostrava artist Daniel Balabán, and is a prominent landmark of the town and its surroundings.

Iron grave crosses can be seen at the site of the former cemetery. They were made in the ironworks of Kadov and Milovy.

Nature

Sněžné lies in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. A unique attraction in the town is the Japanese rock garden, which teacher Pavel Šimon has been creating for years in the spirit of Buddhist and Shinto traditions. It consists of a dry and a wet section; two Japanese dragons guard it.

Visitors to the Japanese rock garden can also see a bonsai exhibition and buy bonsai trees, bonsai pots and ceramics on site.

Trails

The walk around Sněžné passes the Baroque-remodeled Church of the Holy Cross. The approximately nine-kilometre walking route partly follows the local educational trail “S Kvíčalou za humna”.
