Sedlejov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Rosička peat bog pond is located in the cadastral area of Sedlejov and is designated both as a natural monument and as a site of community importance. The water surface of the Rosička peat bog pond is almost completely covered with white water lilies (Nymphaea candida); the body of water is also a habitat for endangered amphibian species, including the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus).

Natural area

The significant landscape feature Hájek u Sedlejova is located in the Sedlejov area. It lies approximately 1.4 km northwest of Sedlejov and is a registered former pasture that serves as a biotope for vertebrates and invertebrates.

Culture and history

The Sedlejov Atonement Stone is a rectangular stone with a sculpted relief of a trefoil cross and dates from 1648. According to oral tradition, while the tithe was being collected, a person fell from a grain wagon at the Sedlejov Atonement Stone and died as a result.

The memorial to those who fell in the First World War in Sedlejov commemorates citizens who died between 1914 and 1918. It stands at a road junction by a pond below the railway station. The Michael Karpov Memorial in Sedlejov is dedicated to a Russian partisan who sacrificed his life for the Czech people on 1 May 1945. The Jan Lojda Memorial in Sedlejov commemorates Jan Lojda, who was born in Sedlejov in 1890 and died on 29 April 1914 in a field hospital in Kraków.
