Malý Beranov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Malý Beranov lies on the flat inner side of a bend in the river, in the canyon-like valley of the Jihlava. This location made it easier to access the river from the surrounding plateau.

Landscape

The water level of the Jihlava near Malý Beranov is approximately 460 metres above sea level, while small elevations on the surrounding plateau reach over 550 metres. Behind Malý Beranov, a former quarry is visible along the direction of the hiking trail.

Hiking

A red-marked hiking trail follows the Jihlava from Malý Beranov towards Kamenný mlýn and Předboř. A hiking trail around the village passes further rock formations used by climbers. The documented circular route of the Maloberanovský Čochtan starts and ends in Malý Beranov, passes through Petrovice, Puklice, Studénky and Kosov, and is 13 km long.

The Maloberanovský Čochtan is a traditional spring hiking event; the 2026 edition was the 50th.

Cycling Route

The Jihlava–Třebíč–Raabs cycling route passes through Malý Beranov.

Culture and Village Life

The Church of the Divine Heart of the Lord in Malý Beranov was built and consecrated on 8 October 1939; its construction was financed entirely through donations. A stone bridge was built on this site between 1554 and 1556.

The Masopustní průvod procession in Malý Beranov takes place every year and ends at the cultural centre. The Maloberanovské slavnosti is a traditional local festival featuring children's competitions, various attractions, refreshments and an evening rock concert by the group Vokrock.
