Klatovec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

East of Klatovec lie Zhejral Pond, the bog and the bog meadows on its northern and western shores – 1 km east of Klatovec. Together, they form a complex with rare fauna and flora. Around 500 species of butterflies have been recorded in the Zhejral area.

Nature

The northwestern slope of Javořice lies in the cadastral area of Klatovec. The nearby area includes several named mountain landmarks: Za Vrškem, Široký kámen, Skalka and Babí hora.

Culture and Remembrance

Míla Doleželová and Jiří Mareš lived and worked in the rural house in Klatovec in the 1960s. The former rural studio and outdoor gallery of the artist couple at Klatovec No. 26 are a cultural monument. The “In the Footsteps of the Painter Míla Doleželová” route leads to this cultural monument, which was declared a cultural monument in 2023.

A stone table still stands at Studánka Páně. It commemorates the secret religious services of the Bohemian Brethren during the Counter-Reformation.

Trails

The educational trail “Discover the Land Beneath Javořice,” opened on 7 November 2007, passes through the Zhejral National Nature Monument and a Natura 2000 site. It consists of two overlapping circular routes: a shorter one with the first five stations and a longer one with all nine stations.
