Stará Říše: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and History

The present-day All Saints Church in Stará Říše is a Baroque parish church located along a road. It was built in 1758 on the site of the former Church of St. Peter, which had been destroyed in a fire in the town. The All Saints Church, with its statue of St. John of Nepomuk, is registered as a cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 18609/7-5216.

Opposite the church stands a Baroque parish house built in 1758. Parish house No. 37 is registered as a cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 40928/7-5217. Josef Florian also founded the Dobré dílo publishing house in Stará Říše. Towards the end of the First World War, Stará Říše had become a centre of poetic and visual Expressionism.

Among the smaller sacred structures is the free-standing Poklona niche chapel near house No. 144. It dates from the first half of the 19th century. A wayside shrine in Stará Říše is registered as a cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 36828/7-5220. On the outskirts of Stará Říše stands a Baroque wayside shrine dated 1715. It has a four-sided chapel with shallow niches and a pyramid-shaped finial.

Landscape

The area of Stará Říše features a balanced mixture of agricultural land and forest areas. In addition, there are numerous smaller watercourses that originate there, as well as a usual number of bodies of water.

Tourism in the area of Stará Říše is primarily focused on cycling tourism.

Transport

Road I/23 Dráchov–Brno and road II/407 Hladov–Dačice intersect in Stará Říše. Public transport in Stará Říše is provided by scheduled buses.
