Záborná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Záborná probably originated in the first half of the 13th century along a long-distance trade route from Hungary to Moravia and Bohemia. A 10-kilometre hiking route of the KČT leads from Polná to Záborná and continues uphill to Bechyňova lipka, where there are seats and a stamp.

History and the Place Name

The earliest reliable written mention of Záborná dates from 23 March 1282. Historically, Borek Hill separated Záborná from the long-distance trade route; the place name Záborná (“behind Borek”) is also connected with this designation. From the first half of the 15th century, Záborná belonged to the Polná–Přibyslav estate.

Routes Across the Heights

A 15-kilometre hiking route passes the 564-metre-high summit of Za Borkem and then descends between the houses into Záborná. A 25-kilometre hiking route of the KČT passes Za Borkem Hill and then descends between the houses into Záborná.
