Boršov’s history is closely linked to stone: the quarrying tradition dates back to the first half of the 19th century. The extraction and processing of stone changed the character of the previously entirely agricultural village and became the livelihood of many local families.

History

In 1892, Jan Cingroš opened a quarry in Boršov. The most important products of his business included machine-cut and polished granite building components; he also supplied so-called Viennese cobblestones to the Austrian court. The Pech Quarry was the second quarry in Boršov and was established in the rock next to the Cingroš Quarry. After the First World War, František Pech reopened the Pech Quarry.

Leisure

The large fire-water reservoir in Boršov has the status of an outdoor swimming pool. Children and adults swim in the pool; in winter, it serves as an ice-skating rink.

Cycling

Boršov lies on the Cyklotrasa 1 cycling loop. The route runs via Cejle, Klepák, Mirošov, Boršov, Hojkov and Čeřínek. Cyklotrasa 1 is 15.8 km long; the stated duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
