Černíč is situated in a gently hilly, predominantly agricultural landscape of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. One of the village’s clear natural landmarks is the Černíč Nature Monument, which covers 23.66 hectares. To the northwest of Černíč lies Černíčský rybník in a valley at the confluence of the Moravská Dyje and the Myslůvka. The shallow flow-through lake is an important area for waterfowl in the open agricultural landscape.
Nature and Landscape
The elevations in the surrounding area also give the landscape a distinct character: Kleniční is a mountain near Černíč. Zadní Radlický vrch, Štamberk and Řásenský vrch are mountains in the vicinity of Černíč.
Culture
The Černíč belfry was built in the 19th century as a small masonry structure to enhance the village square. The freestanding tower has a square ground plan; its bell chamber beneath a pyramidal roof is pierced by circular openings.
Another architectural landmark is Tvrz Černíč: a tower-like structure in a water mill complex on the Moravská Dyje below the dam of Černíčský rybník. Tvrz Černíč can partly be viewed from the outside; otherwise, it is closed to the public. A water fortress probably already stood here in the 14th century.
Regional Surroundings
The wider regional surroundings of Černíč include Roštejn Castle [Doupě], Landštejn Castle and the ruins of Janštejn Castle. The Church of U Svatého Křiže is also located in the vicinity of Černíč.
