Volevčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Volevčice can be explored through specific local landmarks, memorials, and the natural features of its own cadastral area and the surrounding vicinity, both near and farther afield.

History

Volevčice has been mentioned in written sources since the 14th century. A memorial stone commemorates Pavel’s tragic death in 1815. It stands on the road to Telč and is designed as a stele with a relief of the Maltese cross and a seven-line inscription. Another memorial is the stone cross in Volevčice, which commemorates František Šimek from Volevčice and is associated with the year 1914.

The wooden bell tower is also part of the local landscape. Its timber-framed supporting structure takes the form of an elongated truncated pyramid with round openings. The lower, boarded section is covered with shingles.

Nature

Leština is a registered nature conservation locality in the cadastral area of Volevčice u Telče. The spring snowflake (Leucojum vernum) grows in Leština, as does cyperus sedge (Carex pseudocyperus). The functional local biocentre LBC.1 Vostupač includes an alder stand with spring snowflakes and ponds with developed littoral zones.

In the cadastral area of Volevčice, the local biocentre LBC.2 Polívkův rybník consists mainly of the shore area of the Polívkův rybník pond. The functional floodplain-related biocorridor LBK.3 Leština connects the local biocentre LBC.2 Vackovo in the cadastral area of Vanůvek with the local biocentre LBC.1 Vostupač. It follows an unnamed watercourse, serves as a natural migration route, and has only a few natural migration obstacles.

Obecní kopec, a mountain, is located in the immediate vicinity. Vondrova skalka, Štamberk, and Vyštěnec, each a mountain, are located in the surrounding area.

Culture

Roštejn Castle near Doupě is located in the immediate vicinity. The surrounding area also contains the ruins of Janštejn and U Svatého Křiže, a church. Landštejn Castle is located farther away in the wider region.
