Vyskytná nad Jihlavou combines sacred architecture with a landscape full of historical traces. One specific example is the Church of Saint Lawrence: at its core, it is a late Gothic single-nave church that was given a Baroque makeover at the beginning of the 18th century. It stands in an enclosed cemetery area with a mortuary chapel and is protected as a cultural monument under registration number 20448/7-5404.

Culture

The chapel in Hlávkov stands in the village square; Hlávkov is a district of the municipality of Vyskytná nad Jihlavou. Following extensive structural and restoration work, it acquired its present appearance in 2002. It contains frescoes depicting Saints Peter, Paul, Joseph, Anne, John the Baptist and Vincent Ferrer, as well as two group portraits.

The free-standing Chapel of Saint Adalbert in Hlávkov is an example of vernacular sacred architecture from the second half of the 18th century. Its square floor plan, corner pilasters, rectangular entrance and four-sided roof, which transitions into a bell tower, define its appearance. A children's playground was built immediately beside it in 2012.

Landscape

In the Vyskytensko landscape, untouched meadows and wetlands alternate with historic field patterns shaped into elongated strips or circular sections. The field paths and roads are lined with distinctive centuries-old lime trees, wayside crosses, wayside shrines and chapels.

Nature and Trails

The highest point, U sv. Antonína, reaches 629 m and offers year-round walks through wooded terrain. Walks on U sv. Antonína lead through wooded terrain past old mining works, military earthworks from 1823 and an important pilgrimage chapel dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua.

The Rounek mining site dates from the first half of the 13th century to the beginning of the 15th century. Due to its exceptionally good state of preservation, it is unique in the Jihlava mining district. The Hornická educational trail comprises ten stops with information panels and runs via Hlávkov, Vyskytná nad Jihlavou and Rantířov to Rounek. From the parking area by the road, a forest path leads on foot to the mining site. An Advent gathering of three municipalities takes place at the Chapel of Saint Anthony in Rounek.
