Rančířov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rančířov combines sacred architectural heritage, traces of mining, and surroundings in which mountains, a park, and former ponds reveal different facets of the locality.

Culture

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is considered the largest monument in the municipality of Rančířov. Its foundations are dated to the second half of the 13th century. There is also a statue of Saint Joseph on the main road. A statue restored by Josef Moravec in 2009 is now located inside the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Rančířov.

The hrádek of Josef Moravec is designated as an interesting structure in Rančířov. The hrádek contains restored ceilings from houses that were reconstructed in Jihlava’s historic built-up area.

The history of the locality also reaches back to mining: mining was probably already carried out in the Rančířov area from the second half of the 13th century on the slopes along the right bank of the Jihlávka stream. In the Rančířovský Les and Eisenhammer area, also known as V Ráji, eleven shafts are recorded on a plan from 1781 and on a mining map from the 19th century.

Nature

The mountains of Popický vrch, Sokolíčko, Rozhledna, and Kalvárie are located around Rančířov. The Smetanovy sady park is also situated nearby.

Paths and Bodies of Water

One route leads from Sasov towards Rančířov and then branches off towards the Okrouhlík recreational area. Fishing is possible at the former military ponds in Rančířov in accordance with local fishing regulations.

Regional Surroundings

The wider regional surroundings of Rančířov include the Roštejn castle site [Doupě] as well as the ruins of Janštejn and Orlík.
