Mrákotín U Telče: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The stonemasonry exhibition in Mrákotín presents the history and present of the municipality, as well as the history of stonemasonry. It covers the production and transport of the monolith for Prague Castle, as well as the creation of a large stone roller. Hand tools and machine tools, equipment for geologists, and explosives used to blast off sections of rock faces are also part of the exhibition. The exhibition also includes a wooden shelter that was dismantled in a quarry, reduced in size, and reassembled at the exhibition, together with tools, unfinished products, and stonemasons' protective equipment.
Culture and History
The parish church of St. Giles was originally a Gothic church from the 14th century and was rebuilt in the Neoclassical style in 1806–1807. The church and the vicarage in Mrákotín have been documented since 1398; parish registers have existed since 1661. A pilgrimage to the parish church of St. Giles takes place on the Sunday after the feast day of St. Giles.
