Měšín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Měšín tells its story through sacred sites, bodies of water and its former border location: the village lay on the former provincial border between Bohemia and Moravia. This location often led to disputes in the past over whether Měšín belonged to Bohemia or Moravia.

Culture and History

On the outskirts of Měšín, on the road to Polná, there is a niche chapel that was already marked on a plan from 1835 and is undoubtedly older. The niche chapel in Měšín is an immovable cultural monument with the identification number 24627/7-4851. A cross is also located on the outskirts and is listed as an immovable cultural monument under the identification number 68984/7-4852.

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Měšín was built in 1770 as a rectangular structure with a tent roof and a small bell tower topped with an onion dome. It belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Ždírec. A pilgrimage takes place at the chapel once a year, subject to prior announcement.

Nature

The Měšínský potok stream flows through the Měšín area from southeast to northwest and has several tributaries. Prostřední Pond is one of the ponds along the Měšínský potok. From 1 January 2026, the municipality of Měšín approved leasing Prostřední Pond to the Jihlava local branch of the Moravian Fishermen's Union for CZK 57,652 per year.

Cycling

KČT cycle route No. 16 passes through Měšín on the section from Hlinsko to Telč. It runs on paved paths, mostly on asphalt roads, and is suitable for all types of bicycles.
