Hubenov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hubenov combines a signposted hiking trail with a preserved meadow valley. A very small western part of the municipality lies within Čeřínek Nature Park. A yellow-marked hiking trail from Čeřínek to Ježená passes through Hubenov. The preserved valley of the Jedlovský potok stream, characterized by meadows, is another defining feature.

Nature

The Hubenov Reservoir is also part of the landscape. It stores water for the drinking water supply of the city of Jihlava. Construction of the reservoir began in 1968, and it was put into permanent operation in 1974. The immediate area around the Hubenov Reservoir may not be entered.

The “Jihlavskými vrchy do přírodního parku Čeřínek” cycle route passes through Hubenov and is classified as challenging.

History

The old settlement associated with Hubenov was probably established through German colonization. It was mentioned in 1366 as Hladov and in Latin documents as Steindorf; its original inhabitants were engaged in livestock grazing. The grazing farms of Hladov (Starý Hubenov) and Hubenov (Nový Hubenov) later came into the possession of Želiv Monastery.

In 1599, Albrecht z Ratibořic sold the village of Hladov and the Hubenov farm to the city of Jihlava. The property remained in the hands of Jihlava's citizens until 1848. At the Jedlov–Nový Hubenov crossroads in the Starý Hubenov part of the village, there is also a monument to Antonín Novák.
