Kalhov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kalhov is located in the Jeníkovská vrchovina geomorphological district of the Humpolecká vrchovina. On the southern cadastral boundary lies the 713-metre-high Strážník; to the north of the village of Kalhov rises the 693-metre-high Kalhovský vrch. The Hejšťský potok stream flows through Kalhov.

Nature and Landscape

The Hajnice (Hejnice) protected area also extends into the Kalhov cadastral territory and is designated both as a natural monument and as a European protected area. 72 bird species have been documented in the protected area, including 18 specially protected species.

Špičák, Březina and Přední skála are located in the surroundings of Kalhov; all three are mountains. The mountain Putimovský vrch is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Kalhov.

Culture and History

The chapel in Kalhov has been protected as a monument since 1958 and is occasionally accessible. Guards Sergeant B. V. Budnikov fell in a shootout in the surrounding area. The ruins of Orlík are also located in the surroundings of Kalhov.
