Třeštice: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Třeštice can be explored in the village square through its distinctive buildings and small historical details. At its center stands the wooden belfry, dating from 1863 and registered as an immovable cultural monument in the central heritage register.

Culture and townscape

At the Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua, architectural history and clearly structured design come together. The chapel is a historicist, single-nave religious building oriented north–south, with a prismatic tower built into its southern side. It is a building dating from 1939, constructed between 1937 and 1939 and consecrated on 2 July 1939; at the same time, it is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua. On the village square near the chapel, there is also a protected cross dating from 1796.

Another wooden house on the village square is registered as an immovable cultural monument. It stands on a high masonry base and formerly housed a so-called black kitchen. The village landscape is complemented by a wayside shrine dating from 1858, which was fully restored in 2008. A statue of a Praga V3S, the legendary “vejtřaska”, was unveiled in Třeštice on 7 September 2013.

Landscape and trails

Blue- and green-marked hiking trails run along the northern edge of Třeštice’s cadastral area. Cycle route 5123, running between Sedlejov and Doupě, also passes through the village.

The Třešťský potok flows along the eastern edge of Třeštice. South of Třeštice, the Třešťický rybník lies on the Třešťský potok. The landscape around Třeštice comprises slopes and fields, with forests on the horizon.

Trails and events

At the 20th anniversary of the traditional Javořice Hiking Day on 17 May 2026 in Třeštice, the start was at 9 a.m. at the fire station; the event was organized by SDH Třeštice. Bus connections towards Telč and Mrákotín were available from a stop directly in Třeštice.
