Hladov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hladov lies in a shallow valley in the upper reaches of the Hladovský potok in the central part of the Brtnická vrchovina.

Landscape and Water

The spring section of the Hladovský potok, together with the Hladovský rybník, extends into an upland plateau landscape. Hladovský rybník lies on the eastern edge of Hladov. West of Hladov, the significant landscape feature Nad Hladovským rybníkem is registered.

Roads and Forests

Class I road I/38 runs through Hladov and leads from Jihlava to Znojmo. Cycle Route 5092 runs along the edge of Hladov’s cadastral area and leads from Hodice to Stará Říše.

There are larger forested areas in the cadastral area of Hladov, particularly around Veselský vrch.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Hladov is a Neo-Gothic building whose plans were drawn up by Professors Welzl and Dvořák of the industrial school in Brno. The chapel received a new bell, which was consecrated on 31 August 2008.

Hladov paid tithes to the Premonstratensian monastery in Nová Říše. There are five crosses in Hladov and its surroundings, including the cross of Jan Veselý, a legionnaire.

On the outskirts of Hladov, Novoříšské Klášterní pivo was brewed in a brewery according to a recipe attributed to the monks of the monastery in Nová Říše; the first batch was tasted.
