The Velký Pařezitý rybník pond in Řásná was designated a 26-hectare nature reserve in 1984. The pond, the surrounding wetlands and the peat bogs are protected. It was created in 1565 by Zachariáš von Hradec and originally served primarily to supply Telč with water.

The Velký Pařezitý rybník educational trail runs around the Velký Pařezitý rybník pond near Řásná in the Telčsko region.
