Culture and History

Radenice was formerly divided into two parts. The larger historical part of the village was first mentioned in writing in 1481, and the smaller historical part was first mentioned in 1483.

The chapel of Saint Anthony stands in the village square; it was built in 1901 and renovated in 1994. Radenice is also home to traditional houses from the 19th century, as well as a monument to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars.

A syenite cross stands on the road to Jívoví, at a bend. In front of the inn in Radenice stands a marble cross dating from 1898. The old Tiský dvůr estate is located near the Radenice forest.

Landscape

Holý vrch rises above Radenice to a height of 662.2 metres above sea level. Holý vrch is a mineralogical site containing quartz, smoky quartz, feldspar, and tourmaline.

The field paths towards Bory and Cyrilov offer views of the Novoměstsko and Velkomeziříčsko regions. Hiking is mentioned as a leisure activity in the surroundings of Radenice; the area also features a preserved cultural landscape.

Events and Activities

The regularly held Antonínská pouť takes place in June. It includes a church service and entertainment.

The Běh kolem Holého vrchu race passes through Radenice and over Holý vrch. It is a half marathon covering 21.1 kilometres.
