Culture and history

The Chapel of St. Ludmila was built between 1993 and 1994 based on a design by Ludvík Kolka from Brno. It has an unusual Stations of the Cross; a pilgrimage to the chapel is also listed for the Sunday around 15 September.

The historical name Lubchov is associated with beekeeping, which is considered the settlers’ original occupation.

Landscape and nature

The Libochůvka stream flows across the village square of Horní Libochová. Behind the village square is an old lime-tree avenue called Lipky.

The significant Vinohrádek viewpoint is located in the area of Horní Libochová. In the surroundings of Horní Libochová are Ambrožný, a mountain, Víckov, a mountain, Duforty, a mountain, and Koní hora, a mountain.

The Obecník natural monument is home to the habitat and populations of the slender mudwort Coleanthus subtilis, as well as other species associated with the vegetation of ponds drained in summer.

Veveří Castle, a castle, lies in the wider regional surroundings of Horní Libochová.

Horní Libochová has a new multifunctional sports field with artificial turf for tennis, small-sided football, floorball, streetball, football tennis and volleyball.
