Doupě lies in the valley of the Třešťský potok; Roštejn Castle is located within the cadastral territory of the village. A large part of the cadastral territory lies in the northeastern part of the Řásenská vrchovina in the Jihlavské vrchy. Thus, the village area brings together a valley, highlands and a striking historic site.

Landscape and Nature

West of Roštejn Castle, a distinctive frost-weathering landform developed at the end of a small valley in the Roštejnská obora: a so-called nivation niche or nivation hollow. The Roštejnská obora also protects old, primeval-forest-like acidic beech forests, flower-rich beech forests and scree forests. Populations of the hermit beetle (Osmoderma barnabita) and the barbastelle bat (Barbastella barbastellus) are protected in this area.

In the vicinity of Doupě are Obecní kopec Hill, Vyštěnec Hill, Farářský kopec Hill and Vondrova skalka Hill. A nature reserve lies on the western edge of Velký Pařezitý, protecting bog and peat vegetation.
