Cikháj: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cikháj is located in the heart of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, between Žákova hora and Tisůvka. The protected landscape area is 93% covered by forest.

Landscape and Nature

The first protection decree for Žákova hora was issued on December 31, 1933. The Žákova hora Nature Reserve protects natural mixed-forest ecosystems characteristic of the higher elevations of the Žďárské vrchy.

Tisůvka is an 800-meter-high peak and a natural monument above Cikháj. The Stříbrná studánka spring near Žákova hora is considered the source of the Svratka River.

Hiking and History

The Žákova hora educational trail provides information about the nature and history of the primeval forest on Žákova hora. At the same time, it follows partisan routes and leads to one of the sources of the Svratka River.

The 13-kilometer “Into the Primeval Forest” hiking route leads through the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. In Cikháj, it starts at a trailhead with a spacious parking lot; near the beginning, there is a 24-ton stone partisan memorial.

The mountain Žákova hora is located in the immediate vicinity of Cikháj. The mountains Devět Skal, Světka, and Rosička are located in the vicinity of Cikháj.
