Malé Žernoseky is a place of distinct paths, landscapes and stories: the excursion through the Oparenské Valley begins here, while several marked routes pass through the village. Added to this are vineyards on the valley slopes, stops along a nature and cultural history trail, and a small ferry across the Elbe.

Nature and Trails

The picturesque Oparenské Valley is approximately 6 km long and stretches from Malé Žernoseky to Velemín. The excursion through the valley begins in Malé Žernoseky. The Naučná stezka Lovoš, the yellow hiking trail and Cycle Route No. 25 run together through the village.

The ferry between Malé Žernoseky and Velké Žernoseky transports pedestrians and cyclists in a small boat.

Educational Trail and Local History

Three stops on the Naučné putování skřítka Portáše educational trail are located in Malé Žernoseky. The entire trail offers 16 stops in the natural and cultural history context of 10 municipalities. The stop in Malé Žernoseky presents the local history through the figure of Žernosecký vodník and invites visitors to search for a hidden symbol.

Wine on the Elbe

The Litoměřická vinařská stezka is slightly more than 15 km long and runs along both banks of the Elbe. Along the route, visitors can visit local winemakers and taste their wines; advance registration by telephone is required, as with a few exceptions, the winemakers are not available without an appointment.

Vinařství sv. Tomáše offers wine sales and wine tastings in its wine cellar. The winery's vineyards are located in the Na Dobraji wine-growing area and partly on the slopes of the Oparenské Valley. The family-run Vinařství sv. Tomáše cultivates an area of approximately 8 ha.

Traces of the Past

The Morový kámen commemorates the victims of the plague epidemic of 1680. It is located near the former Císařský mlýn in an elevated position and bears a relief with a double cross.
