Loučná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Loučná Chapel is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It was built in 1799 in the late Baroque style and completely reconstructed in 2004.
Culture and history
Loučná Chapel was once a pilgrimage site associated with Osek Monastery. Osek Monastery is located in the vicinity of Loučná. According to local legend, Hans Krawath lived in Loučná; the cave near Osek now known as Krawatova Cave is associated with him. Krawatova Cave lies on the red hiking trail above Loučenský „Kravčák“ in the direction of Dlouhá Louka.
Nature and trails
The route to Dušanova vyhlídka leads through Loučenská hornatina Nature Park and Vlčí důl Nature Reserve, where old beech forests, mountain meadows and peat bogs are protected. The hike to Dušanova vyhlídka follows a red trail for approximately 6 kilometres in one direction along a paved road.
Cycle Route 231 follows the same route as the trail to Dušanova vyhlídka and continues on to Dlouhá Louka. The hike “Z Meziboří na Loučnou” enters the village along the upper edge of Loučná.
Mountains and destinations in the surrounding area
The mountains Vlčí hora and Stropnik are located in the immediate vicinity of Loučná. The surrounding area also includes Bouřňák Mountain, Bořeň Mountain [Bílina-Újezd] and Purschenstein Castle. Further afield in the region are the ruins of Sukoslav and the Osterzgebirge Wildlife Park, a zoo.
