Svinčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Svinčice is closely associated with equestrian sports. Equipark Svinčice includes spacious horse stables and an indoor riding arena. Leisure and tourist horseback rides are offered in Svinčice. From Equipark Svinčice, rides lead into the surroundings of the Zlatník, Zeleňák and Bořeň mountains and onward into the Central Bohemian Uplands. Beginners can receive basic riding training at Equipark Svinčice in the indoor riding arena under the guidance of instructors and trainers.

Equestrian Sports with a Special History

The riding arena in Svinčice, together with the arena in Prešov, was one of the first in Czechoslovakia to be built for full competition and training operations. It served as a training venue for Jiří Pecháček and Andrej Glatz as they prepared for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.

History

Svinčice was first mentioned in 1207 as property of the Cistercian monastery in Osek. A fortress was later built on an estate in Svinčice, initially owned by the Štampach family. Archaeological investigations in Svinčice uncovered settlement traces from the Late Stone Age and the Bronze Age. Settlement traces from the Early Middle Ages were also found in the centre of Svinčice.

Landscape and Nature

The cadastral area of Svinčice belongs to the Central Bohemian Uplands. The village lies in a small hollow carved into the northern slope of the broad, open valley of the Lužický potok stream. The occurrence of the meadow pasque flower (Pulsatilla pratensis) has been documented in the Svinčice area. The municipality of Lužice is part of the Most–Doksy main cycling route.
