Meziboří: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Meziboří lies on the slopes of the Ore Mountains at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level and is surrounded by forest on all sides.

Landscape and Nature

The Loučenská hornatina Nature Park also extends across the administrative area of Meziboří. The local natural heritage includes the Lípy v Meziboří tree group, consisting of two small-leaved lime trees (Tilia cordata). A circular protection zone with a radius of 12 metres has been designated for Tree 1, and a protection zone with a radius of 10 metres for Tree 2. The tree group stands on Okružní and Potoční streets.

Trails and Sports

The Tesařova cesta begins in Meziboří at the stadium and leads along the slope of Studenec towards Šumný důl, through the Pekelské údolí valley and as far as a game enclosure. Thanks to its well-maintained path, it is suitable for hiking and cycling. Numerous information boards along the route cover the geological development of the Ore Mountains, as well as plants, animals, bodies of water and the local population.

The Meziboří Ski Area has a public ski lift and downhill slopes; the downhill slopes are open while the ski lift is operating. Local sports facilities also include a ski slope, two football stadiums, tennis courts and a sports hall.

Information Centre

The Meziboří Information Centre provides information about tourism opportunities and transport connections in the region and sells tourist maps of Meziboří. It also offers advance ticket sales for the city's cultural events and public internet access.

History and Townscape

In 1949, the construction of a small town for apprentices in heavy industry was decided upon in Schönbach, the place later known in Czech as Šenbach. Much of the original development was demolished and replaced first by brick residential buildings and later by prefabricated apartment blocks.
