History and culture

A Christian burial ground was uncovered at the eastern edge of Bříza; two graves were covered with stone slabs bearing crosses. The Christian burial ground uncovered in Bříza in 1912 contained 30 skeletons. The archaeological find from Bříza dating from 1912 includes a Czech denar of Vratislaus II from the period between 1061 and 1092.

Bříza was part of the Roudnice estate. After 1603, Roudnice and its associated villages were administered by the Lobkowicz family until patrimonial administration ended in 1850. A memorial to those who fell in the First World War stands at the cultural centre in Bříza.
