Libotenice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Libotenice makes its cultural features visible in specific places: Since 1998, the Association of Women and Men Painters of Easter Eggs of the Czech Republic has been based in the village. A gallery of decorated Easter eggs, open year-round, displays more than 1,200 Easter eggs made using traditional techniques.

Culture and History

The present-day Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria was consecrated on 19 August 1703. It stands north of Libotenice, away from the village; the municipality holds seasonal exhibitions there. In the centre of the village stands the Chapel of Saint Isidore, built in 1786. Regular services are held in this chapel.

The Easter egg gallery is also connected with local cultural life. Visits can be arranged by appointment via email or telephone. Another special feature is the classic tramp settlement Žíznivá osada, which was established in Libotenice in 1962. It has its own music group and a regular meeting place in the Libotenice cultural centre.

Experiences

Alternative route 2A of the Elbe Cycle Route runs through Libotenice. The port of Libotenice has eight angled berths at a floating jetty. It also has a floating landing stage for vessels up to 55 × 8.2 metres, as well as for small watercraft with a total length of up to 20 metres.
